Unbreakable Friendship: Two Special Dogs Find Forever Home and Heartwarming Bond

Last Update:

In a heartwarming tale of resilience and companionship, two special dogs have forged an unbreakable bond after being adopted by the same family five years apart.

Liesl Wilhardt, founder and director of Luvable Dog Rescue, opened her doors and heart to Picasso and Newt, both of whom live with facial deformities.

Despite their physical challenges, they found solace and happiness in each other’s company on Wilhardt’s expansive 55-acre property in Eugene, Oregon.

Picasso, now five years old, was born with a deformed nose, resulting in a condition known as a wry mouth.

This facial abnormality, reminiscent of the cubist art of his namesake, Pablo Picasso, made adoption challenging despite not causing discomfort to Picasso.

Newt, a one-year-old pup, faced obstacles after losing his upper jaw in an accident. Despite his medical concerns, he found a loving home with Wilhardt, where he bonded instantly with Picasso.

Both dogs exude joy and affection despite their hardships, particularly in their interactions with people.

Luvable Dog Rescue, under Wilhardt’s stewardship, has provided sanctuary to numerous needy animals, including cats, dogs, and even an orphan pig.
