In a rare conversation about her past relationship, Scarlett Johansson recently discussed her “forgotten” ex-husband, Ryan Reynolds, on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop podcast.
The topic of marriage arose during the interview, leading Johansson to mention her three weddings, including her brief union with Reynolds.
Paltrow recalled Johansson’s marriage to the Deadpool star from 2008 to 2010 and expressed her admiration for Reynolds.
In response, Johansson admitted that their marriage was short-lived but agreed that Reynolds was “a good guy.”
Johansson, 38, and Reynolds, 46, ended their two-year marriage in December 2010 and finalized their divorce in July 2011.
Although the two rarely speak about their brief marriage, Johansson did address it during a 2019 Vanity Fair interview, explaining that she did not fully understand marriage at 23 and may have romanticized it.
After splitting from Reynolds, Johansson married French advertising agency owner Romain Dauriac in 2014.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Rose, that same year and divorced in September 2017. Johansson married Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost in 2020, with whom she shares a son named Cosmo, born in 2021.
On the other hand, Reynolds began dating his Green Lantern co-star Blake Lively in 2011. The couple tied the knot in 2012 and have since had three children, with a fourth child on the way, as announced by Lively in September 2022.
