Lola, a pit bull, endured eight years of solitude and neglect tied up in a dark and dirty garage, her days spent on a cold concrete floor with no care or attention.
Fortunately, her story improved when a concerned citizen alerted AMA Animal Rescue, a New York-based animal welfare organization.

Rescuers persuaded Lola’s owner to release her, expecting her to be wary or aggressive after such mistreatment.
However, Lola surprised them with her affectionate demeanor, eagerly greeting her rescuers with wagging tails and kisses.

She was promptly taken to the Animal Kind Veterinary Hospital for surgery to remove tumors that had developed during her neglect.
Following her surgery, Lola spent a few months in foster care before finding her forever home with Charlène von Saher, a Manhattan resident.
Despite her traumatic past, Lola quickly adapted to her new environment, discovering the joy of soft beds and comfortable surfaces.

Von Saher recounts Lola’s amusing antics as she discovers the luxury of multiple cushions and even creates her makeshift bed by rearranging pillows.
After years of confinement, Lola revels in the freedom to bask in the sunshine and explore her newfound comforts.
Von Saher reflects on Lola’s profound impact on her life, acknowledging the transformative power of pet adoption.

By welcoming Lola into her home, she saved one life and made space for another rescue animal in need.
Lola has become an integral part of von Saher’s life in just seven weeks, bringing joy and companionship with her boundless affection.
Her journey from a life of neglect to one filled with love and comfort serves as a testament to the resilience of rescue animals and the transformative power of compassion.
