She sat quietly outside a clothing store, her tired eyes scanning every passerby as if searching for someone who might care.

As they approached, she didn’t resist. Though frightened, she allowed the strangers near, sensing they meant no harm. Up close, it was clear she had been neglected for far too long.

She was given medication, a warm bath, and, for the first time in days, felt comfort and care. One of her rescuers took her home, making sure she received every bit of attention she needed to heal.
