During a recent eviction carried out by the Sheriff’s Department, authorities discovered a dog in extremely poor condition at a property.
This unfortunate canine had spent years with a rope around its neck, exposed to harsh weather and suffering greatly.
The dog’s situation was critical. Weighing just 35 pounds instead of a healthy 70, it was covered in dried blood and infested with fleas, with its ears severely clogged.
The animal found it difficult to walk or even stand due to its weakness. Disturbingly, its gums were pale, and it was experiencing bloody urination.
Medical tests uncovered numerous health problems, including heartworm, severe anemia, a high white blood cell count, low protein levels, elevated potassium, and a serious urinary tract infection.
Despite these severe health challenges, the dog—now named Justice—showed a spark of hope, managing a feeble wag of his tail.
Recently, Justice has been showing promising signs of recovery. He attempted a short walk and remarkably stood and moved for nearly 10 minutes, despite some trembling.
His strong spirit is evident as he begins to find joy in life again, particularly enjoying playing with stuffed animals, something he is now strong enough to do.
