Meet Baikal, a dog whose heart-wrenching journey from despair to hope has touched many. Initially found huddled by a grocery store wall, Baikal was desperately scavenging for scraps left behind by shoppers.

Amidst this loneliness, Baikal’s health was in dire straits, suffering from severe demodicosis, which had ravaged his body.
Fortunately, Baikal’s fortune changed when a compassionate volunteer from Angel Sobaki Help, a Russian animal welfare organization, noticed his plight.
She immediately took him to a veterinarian, speaking to him soothingly during their journey, offering comfort and reassurance.
Once at the veterinary clinic, Baikal’s condition was thoroughly assessed. He had eye infections, a foul smell emanating from his ears, and overgrown claws that had never been trimmed.
Despite his suffering, Baikal’s gentle demeanor touched the hearts of the veterinary staff, motivating them to help him heal.
The following day, a crucial ultrasound revealed inflammation in Baikal’s intestines, likely due to prolonged starvation. However, with proper nutrition and care, Baikal’s health started to improve rapidly.
Just nine days after his rescue, he was running around energetically, showing affection towards people and charming those who interacted with him.
With a shepherd-like appearance, Baikal’s friendly nature shone through as he regained strength, weighing a healthy 31 kilograms.
Within two months, Baikal underwent an incredible transformation. He blossomed into a strikingly handsome dog with a bright, playful spirit, clearly delighted by his newfound happiness.
